LTO Ultrium Data Cartridge

Management of exponential data growth continues to be one of the great challenges for IT managers in light of shrinking IT budgets and environmental concerns. Tape storage is indeed alive and is the key to success in meeting the data growth challenge in a reliable, cost effective and environmentally safe manner!
Studies show that the total cost of ownership of LTO 5 tape systems is 15X less than disk for long term data archives while disk consumes 238X more energy to store the same amount of data. Tape systems have further advantages such as greater capacity with potential density increases, better reliability, ease of removability and scalability, and support of WORM and encryption. With LTFS (Linear Tape File System) making tape faster and easier to use, tape is truly the ideal solution for long term data storage, now and in the future!

For Further Reliable Data Storage, FUJIFILM LTO Ultrium Data Cartridge will be the Answer

As database- and Internet-related applications require greater data storage, and critical operations demand minimized downtime due to backup operations, new cost-effective solutions are needed.

First LTO in the world produced with Barium Ferrite Magnetic Particles

The Fujifilm LTO Ultrium 6 cartridge is the first in the world produced with Barium Ferrite magnetic particles using Fujifilm's core Nanocubic technology. The LTO Ultrium 6 cartridge offers a super high compressed (2.5×) storage capacity of 6.25TB with the transfer rate of up to 400 megabytes per second.
LTO Generation 6 hardware will be backward read/write compatible with LTO Ultrium 5 data cartridges and backward read compatible with LTO Ultrium 4 data cartridges. As with the previous generation, LTO Ultrium 6 hardware will incorporate the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) and Linear Tape File System (LTFS) dual partitioning functionality. In addition, Fujifilm LTO 6 cartridges are capable of long life archive for over 30 years and it also has excellent read/write accuracy on drives that start to wear down after repeated use.

Technologies

Improvement in “NANOCUBIC technology”
Fujifilm LTO Ultrium 6 data cartridges use Fujifilm's advanced NANOCUBIC coating process, which incorporates three Fujifilm proprietary technologies:
  • Nano-particle Technology: New finer particle Barium Ferrite (30% smaller than metal particle used on LTO-5)
  • Nano-dispersion Technology: Uniform particle dispersion by applying high-dispersed binder.
  • Nano-coating Technology: Improved ultra-thin layer coating to realize an even thinner magnetic layer.

The Fuji 15716800 LTO 4 Prospective Tape Format

The rapidly growing digital and corporate level data is creating huge challenges to the management of IT industry. Fuji Linear Tape Open concept developed to tackle these growing concerns of storage industry with its high quality capacities, faster data speed, and excellent overall performance, make this a most successful and dependable media format. The magnetic tape systems have additional benefits such as superior capacity through prospective density increases, better dependability, easy to use, healthier scalability, and support of old and new technologies. Fuji 15716800 give opportunity to millions of data managers around the world with high capacity, faster speed, improved protection of archives data with superior performance.

The Fuji LTO 15716800 uses NANOCUBIC technology which maximize the capacity of media cartridge with its particularly thin layer coating technique that consequences in higher decree for recording digital and corporate information. This technology helps media cartridge with low noise and high Signal-to-Noise rates that are perfect for Magneto-Resistive (MR) recording heads. Improve the storage capacity with 800GB native and 1600GB of compressed with high quality and more secure data transfer speed 120MB/Sec native and 240MB/Sec of compressed. Fuji 15716800 LTO-4 Tape relies on a timing based accurate and constant servo system to get outstanding and high quality performance. The dual servo tracks that have been exactly write beside the full span of its four data bands, for very fine position be in charge of and idleness in the occasion of tape reparation.

From Fuji 15716800 LTO 4 Tape hardware based Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) 256-bit technology is introduce to remain data more secure and prevent from data loss during transaction of information from drive to cartridge. The WORM (Write Once Read Many) functionality is offering a cost efficient possibility for compliance regulatory data in non-writeable, non-delete able formation to meet with high quality compliance necessities.

The Fuji 15716800 LTO 4 is design for the robust protection of important and valuable data.
